Jeanine Romano, (known to some at St. Paul as “June’s daughter”) has been an ELCA Lutheran since 2000. The youngest of six children, she was raised Catholic. She currently works in Tampa as the Director of Business Education Data, Benchmarking and Analysis for AACSB International, a non-profit organization that accredits Colleges and Schools of Business all over the world. Jeanine has a BA in Mathematics Education, a Masters in Mathematics Education, and a PhD in Educational Measurement all from the University of South Florida (USF). Jeanine also has worked as a professional singer and spent some time performing on cruise ships in the late 1980s. She has been working in higher education for about 20 years both as an instructor and in the area of Institutional Research at universities in the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and in the US. In addition, she has also worked as Psychometrician for the American Board of Pathology. Jeanine graduated from the Florida-Bahamas Synod diakonia program in June 2017. Jeanine wishes to serve our Lord Jesus Christ by serving others. Her ministry as a Synod Parish Deacon will involve assisting our Pastor in pastoral care for our parish members and assisting with our New Parish Institute Education events. She also will continue her music ministry for Lutheran Urban Parish and will continue to volunteer as needed for our community outreach in partnership with The Well. Jeanine also hopes to work with our pastor to support immigrants and refugees in helping those who have been forced to leave their countries to escape persecution, resettle and integrate into new communities. Jeanine’s desire is to follow the Word by acting justly, loving mercy and walking humbly with our God (Micah 6:8). She invites you to join her on this journey.
